Plumbing Marketing in Texas

The most urgent demand in the trades, decided in under a minute, and usually lost on the phone rather than in the auction.

The no-brainer offer

We will show you free how many of your calls never turn into a booked job.

Give us access to the ad account and a month of call recordings. We will come back with how many calls were missed, how many were answered badly, how many were outside your area, and what each of those cost you in wasted spend. Recorded walkthrough, no call required to receive it.

The audit is free and yours to act on however you like, with or without us.

What is actually different about Texas

Local conditions that change the plan, rather than the region name pasted into a template.

Freezes are rare, and that is the problem

Much of Texas housing was not built with hard freezes in mind, and the February 2021 winter storm burst pipes across the state at the same moment. When a freeze is forecast, plumbing demand can jump from normal to overwhelming within hours. Plumbers who have freeze-response pages, a paused campaign and call handling ready - and who publish calm, practical prevention advice before the cold arrives - earn customers who remember who answered.

Slab foundations make leaks a specialty

Many Texas homes sit on slab foundations, so a leak under the slab is a recognisable, high-value job with its own searches - and its own anxiety for homeowners worried about their foundation. Slab leak detection and repair, water heater replacement and repiping each deserve their own pages and campaigns, separate from routine service calls, so the larger jobs are not lost among drain clears.

The Gulf Coast floods; the metros keep growing

On the Gulf Coast, heavy rain and hurricanes - Hurricane Harvey in 2017 most memorably - bring sewer backups and flood-related plumbing work. Inland, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio keep adding homes and businesses. Each metro has different competition and cost per click, so a Texas plumbing company serving several needs separate budgets and reporting rather than one statewide campaign.

The rules here

Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) · Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1301; 22 Tex. Admin. Code Part 17 (including §§367.9 and 367.10)

The board that governs your advertising depends on the licence you hold, not only on the region. These are the rules that bite in Texas.

No advertising without a Responsible Master Plumber

Texas rules say no person or company may advertise, contract for or offer to perform plumbing for the public unless it has secured the services of at least one Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) holding a current Master Plumber License, as an employee or owner (22 TAC §367.9). Marketing for a new plumbing business should not start until that is in place - and agencies should not run plumbing ads for companies that cannot show it.

The RMP's licence number in every ad

All advertisements designed to solicit plumbing business must state the RMP of record's licence number, regardless of the media used (§367.10(c)). The rule lists narrow exceptions - such as radio or phone solicitation with a compliance statement, promotional items of nominal value, signs at the permanent business location and third-party listings you do not control or promote. Search ads, social ads, your website and listings you manage are not among them.

Vehicles and paperwork name the RMP and the board

The RMP's licence number and company name must appear on both sides of all service vehicles (§367.10(a)). The first page of every written or electronic proposal, invoice or contract must show, in at least twelve-point font, the RMP's name and licence number, the phrase 'regulated by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners' and the board's address, phone number and website (§367.10(b)). Online quotes and invoices count.

What you get

What the work actually involves

The same programme as everywhere, run against this region's rules.

Emergency search campaigns structured by problem, not by service name
Separate funnels and budgets for planned work: re-pipes, bathroom fits, water heaters
Call tracking with recordings, including missed-call and abandoned-call reporting by hour
After-hours strategy: answering, overflow or paused ads, decided on the numbers
Phone-first landing pages built to load and convert on a mobile connection under stress
Google Business Profile and local pack work, which carries most of this demand
Local Services Ads managed where available and where the lead price clears
Monthly reporting that reconciles spend to booked and invoiced jobs

Dental Network Regional Expansion

Our closest work is the dental network in the case study below, where we ran Meta and Google, moved budget toward Google Local Services Ads and cut cost per lead 38%, reaching 31,000+ leads at $19 each with show rates up 44% from automated reminders. That client was not a plumbing company and not in Texas. What transfers is fast, consistent handling of urgent enquiries across several local markets, each judged on its own numbers - which is how Texas metros, and freeze surges, need managing.

Texas-specific questions

Yes. TSBPE rules require all advertisements designed to solicit plumbing business to state the licence number of the Responsible Master Plumber of record, regardless of the media used. There are narrow exceptions, such as radio ads or phone solicitation with a statement that the company complies with state licensing, promotional items of nominal value, and third-party listings you do not control or promote. Search ads, social ads and your website need the number.
